CHIRP LUMBER GUARANTEE
Every other brand gives you 30 to 60 days. We give you forever. Break it, lose it, or just want a new one — we've got you covered, no questions asked.
Hockey sticks break. That's not a defect — that's the sport. A hard slash, a slapshot gone wrong, a stick check at the wrong angle, and your $130 twig is in two pieces on the ice. Every hockey player has been there. What happens next is where Chirp is different from every other brand in the game.
We built the Chirp Lumber Guarantee because we believe in the gear we make — and because we've seen too many players get burned by warranties that sound great in the marketing copy and disappear the moment you actually need them. The "30-day warranty" that expires before your first real game. The "manufacturer defect only" clause that somehow never applies to your broken stick. The customer service email that goes unanswered for two weeks.
The Chirp Lumber Guarantee is the opposite of all that. Here's exactly what it means, how it works, and why it's the best hockey stick warranty policy available anywhere — not just in street hockey, but across the sport.

What Is the Chirp Lumber Guarantee?
The Chirp Lumber Guarantee is an optional warranty add-on available at checkout for $40. It entitles you to one free replacement stick — no time limit, no questions asked, for any reason.
That means if your stick breaks on your first shift, you get a new one. If it breaks three seasons from now, you get a new one. If a teammate "borrows" it and forgets to return it, you get a new one. If you just decide you want a fresh street twig — you get a new one. Chirp pays for the replacement and covers the shipping, both ways.
Standard Purchase vs. Lumber Guarantee — What's the Difference?
Every Chirp stick comes with a standard 14-day return policy for unused sticks in brand-new condition. The Lumber Guarantee is an optional upgrade that gives you complete, long-term protection on top of that.

Is the Lumber Guarantee worth it? At $40, the Guarantee costs less than one-third the price of a replacement stick ($130). If there's any chance your stick breaks, gets lost, or you play hard enough to wear it out — the math is straightforward. One replacement pays for itself more than three times over.
How to Claim Your Lumber Guarantee Replacement
We built the claim process to take less than two minutes. No lengthy forms, no back-and-forth emails, no waiting weeks to hear if you're approved. Here's how it works:
1. Submit Your Request
Click the Warranty & Returns Submission Form link on this page. Fill in your order number and a brief description of what happened — or just say you want a replacement. No proof of damage required.
2. We Review Within 2 Business Days
Our team reviews every request personally. We don't run it through an automated system that rejects claims on technicalities. A real person reads it and responds.
3. Confirm Your Replacement Details
We'll confirm your flex, size, and shipping address for the replacement. If you want to change your flex from your original order — no problem, just let us know.
4. Your New Stick Ships — Free
Chirp covers all shipping costs on the replacement. You'll receive a tracking number once your new stick is on its way. Back on the ice as fast as possible.
How Chirp Compares to Other Hockey Stick Warranties
Warranty policies in the hockey industry have always favoured the manufacturer, not the player. Short windows, restrictive conditions, and difficult claims processes are the norm. Here's how the Chirp Lumber Guarantee stacks up against the standard in the market.

Why do most hockey stick warranties only cover "manufacturing defects ?
Because almost no broken stick qualifies as a manufacturing defect. Sticks break from impact — slashes, blocked shots, board collisions. These are playing conditions, not defects. A 30-day "manufacturing defect" warranty on a hockey stick is, in practice, almost worthless for most players.
Returns Policy — Changed Your Mind?
No Lumber Guarantee needed for a straightforward return. If you've received your Chirp stick and changed your mind before your first session, here's what applies:
Return Window: 14 days from delivery date.
Condition Required: Brand-new — no tape, no marks, no ice time, no asphalt contact.
Shipping: Return shipping costs are on the customer.
How to Start: Submit via the Warranty & Returns Submission Form below. Our team responds within 2 business days.
We keep the return condition requirement strict because a used stick can't be resold as new — that's fair to both sides. If you're uncertain about a purchase, reach out before you open the packaging and we'll help you figure out the right stick for your game before you commit.
Why Chirp Offers a Warranty Nobody Else Will Match
The honest answer is that we built the Lumber Guarantee because we knew it would force us to build better sticks. When your warranty covers everything forever, you have a very strong incentive to manufacture gear that doesn't break.
The major brands — Bauer, CCM, Warrior — make sticks at a price point where a 30-day warranty is a calculated business decision. Their sticks are expensive enough that replacing them indefinitely would eat into margins. Their warranty window is designed to expire before most sticks actually break in real-game conditions.
Chirp operates differently. We sell directly — no retail markup, no distributor margin, no middlemen. That lets us price our carbon fiber sticks at a fraction of what major brands charge and still offer a replacement policy that no one else in the industry will touch. The Lumber Guarantee isn't a marketing gimmick — it's a reflection of how we're built as a company.
A note on what the Guarantee doesn't cover: The Lumber Guarantee applies to your original stick — one replacement per purchase. If the replacement stick breaks, that's a new purchase. We're covering you for the life of your original stick, not perpetual replacements forever. We think that's still the fairest deal in hockey.
Frequently Asked Questions — Chirp Lumber Guarantee
Do I have to add the Lumber Guarantee at checkout, or can I add it later?
The Lumber Guarantee must be added at the time of purchase — it's a $40 add-on at checkout. It cannot be added retroactively after your order has been placed. If you're unsure, our recommendation is always to add it. At $40 against a $130 stick, the math strongly favours the Guarantee for any player who plays more than casually.
Do I need to send photos of the broken stick to make a claim?
No. The Guarantee is no-questions-asked, which means we don't require photos, damage assessments, or proof of any kind. You submit the form, we review and confirm within 2 business days, and your replacement ships. We trust our customers. If you say your stick broke, your stick broke.
Can I get a different flex or size on my replacement stick?
Yes. When we confirm your replacement, you can request a different flex (40, 50, or 75) or a different length from your original order. A lot of players discover their flex preference changes after playing with a stick for a season — we accommodate that.
How long does the replacement take to arrive?
Once your claim is confirmed, replacement sticks typically ship within 2–5 business days depending on stock availability. You'll receive a tracking number as soon as your replacement is on its way. Shipping is fully covered by Chirp — you pay nothing for delivery of the replacement.
What if the Street Twig model I bought is out of stock when I make my claim?
We'll let you know the expected restock date and hold your claim until it ships. Alternatively, if you'd prefer a different Chirp model of equivalent value, we'll work that out with you. We don't let stock issues become a way of avoiding a legitimate Guarantee claim.
Does the Lumber Guarantee cover the Silky Mitts gloves or other Chirp products?
The Lumber Guarantee is currently specific to Chirp stick purchases. Other Chirp products are covered by their individual return and warranty policies. Check each product page for the applicable coverage — and watch this space, as we're working on extending Guarantee-style coverage across more of our line.
Is the Chirp Lumber Guarantee a lifetime warranty?
It's better than most lifetime warranties in the industry — because most "lifetime" policies are still restricted to manufacturing defects, which almost never apply to how sticks actually break in play. The Lumber Guarantee covers any reason, any time, with no questions asked. The one difference from a true lifetime warranty: it covers one replacement per original purchase, not unlimited replacements forever.
